Do we need a mission statement? Pokémon Posca, for the uninitiated, is a dream come true literate Pokémon Roleplaying forum. But there's some big important new stuff going on. The very first Coordinators have found their way to Posca. They're the first non-Trainers since Posca opened way back when.
... Pioneers.
Also, a new Name Contest has just begun, so be sure to enter. Otherwise, I will harass you until you enter. And it had better be good. What, you think I'm joking? Try me. Go ahead, try me. I know where you live. We had some really amazing entries last time, and I'd love to see what you have to offer. And the Mod of the Month campaign has begun, that should be fun. Go check it out if you get a chance.

Nogueira's Lab - Varro Village Varro Village is a sleepy town nestled in a distant corner of Posca. Bordered to the west by the ocean, the east by Solmoneth River, and the north by a mountain, the remote Varro Village is known for only three things - the unique architecture, the Varro Village School of Engineering, and Professor Nogueira's Lab. The Laboratory is the highlight of the cozy rural town. Lab Assistants will give you a Starter Pokemon - as they're legally obligated to do - but for decades the Professor's philanthropy has provided free supplies to all beginners who ask. Choose your Starter and get a Starter Pack here.
Route One - Tropic Shoreline Tropic Shoreline from Varro Village smoothly winds between the ocean and the forest's edge. The Shoreline is usually rather quaint, but small-scale warfare has recently erupted between Grass, Bug, and Water-type Pokemon. This territorial battle - coupled with the Shoreline's natural beauty - tends to attract beginning Trainers. Pokemon here are just as inexperienced as the Trainers that pass through. Warm, inviting breezes carry you to Holzen Swamp. The first Hall Leader can be found here, in the Yoroyoro Dojo, where you can earn the Stance Ribbon.
Holzen Swamp Eventually, Route One curves inland, and the towering forest becomes a dense swamp. Luckily, a makeshift road of floatings logs has been built to keep travelers from sinking into the muck. The boardwalk opens into a massive, man-made island of wood - with an entire village on top. Holzen has all the amenities of similar towns - a Pokemon Center, shops, homes, a Gym - and it's easy to forget that it's all held above the surface of a swamp. The first Gym Leader battles here, challenge her for a chance to earn the Seashell Badge.
Route Two - Gudré Boardwalk Gudré Boardwalk from Holzen Swamp begins as a bridge, leading safely out of the swamp. As you exit the swamp, it becomes very dark, as trees close in and you enter the shadow of the Konilo City Ridge. The bridge from Holzen Swamp transitions into a wide, shadow-covered boardwalk, overrun with Trainers and Wild Pokemon. The most fascinating section of Gudré Boardwalk, however, is the Stairway itself, a truly colossal staircase leading over and out of of the thick forest canopy and up to Konilo City. Also, if you look hard enough, you may find a hidden second Hall here to earn the Vanity Ribbon.
Konilo City Emerging from Gudré Stairway, it's easy to see the path you've taken, all the way from Varro Village. Elevated nearly a quarter-mile above sea-level, the massive wooden structure of Gudré Boardwalk finally finds an anchor point atop the Konilo City Ridge. The ocean view here is spectacular, but there's very little else. The town's economy has nearly collapsed since the basalt quarry shut down, but Konilo City is not without value. The second Gym Leader battles deep in the quarry, challenge him for a chance to earn the Crane Badge; or take on the third Hall Leader here, to earn the Sculpture Ribbon.
Route Three - Micah's Acreage Micah's Acreage is even less hospitable than Konilo City. Aptly named for the legal owner of the land, there are no longer any natural resources to speak of in this area. Dried, withering grasses stretch for miles in every direction, each step you take kicks up a cloud. But there is a certain appeal to the dusty gravel road - countless Wild Pokemon call this area home, many of them impossible to find anyplace else in Posca. A collector's paradise, Micah's Acreage leads to Thark Lake.
Thark Lake Oddly, the gravel path comes to an immediate halt, as does the field of dead, brown grass. You overlook a huge, shallow depression, with nothing but creaky old buildings, cracked mud, and tumbleweeds. A makeshift road is lined with dried logs, leading down into Thark Lake. A few elderly gentlemen sit quietly on their porches and whittle and spit and wave amenably, but the only practical parts of town are the watertower and Gym next door. The third Gym Leader battles here, challenge him for a chance to earn the Deadpan Badge, or if you prefer, visit the Abandoned Clock Tower to win the Continuum Ribbon.
Route Four - North Road Escaping the dried lake, you enter North Road, an ancient path of stone winding between a mountain range. The bending, curving Solmoneth River is also visible, and rural fishermen line the shores day and night. The farther from Thark Lake you travel, the more hospitable the climate becomes, and eventually North Road winds between the forest and Solmoneth River. Intriguingly, a relatively high density of Trainers are on Route Four, in contrast to the sparsely-populated countryside behind you. Making it past these Trainers, you can challenge the fifth Hall Leader here for the Thistle Ribbon.
Schuldenberg City The old cobblestone road became an old cobblestone bridge, which arced to a tear-drop shaped eyot in Solmoneth River. This "island in the stream" is the commercial and economic hub of all Posca, and the culture of Schuldenberg City has been allowed to develop in isolation from much of the rest of civilization. This quirky city is a tourist trap this time of year, so expect to feel a bit crowded. Quite a leap from the hardly-populated Thark Lake. The fourth Gym Leader battles here, challenge her for a chance to earn the Sheep Badge.
Route Five Route Five would epitomize straightforwardness. It would be a four-lane highway, paved and well-kept for quick transporation between major cities. It would be. But it isn't. Fire-types have taken over the hot asphalt and the woodlands bordering it. The road is almost always covered in ash, and the forest appears as if it was recently struck by a forest fire, but this is not the case. If appearances weren't deceptive enough, the fifth Gym Leader battles here. Challenge him for a chance to earn the Chimney Badge.
Sysa City Eventually the road makes a tight curve and the forest clears out and the skyline of Sysa City rises before you. This ancient capital city had been forgotten for centuries, until only twenty years ago, it was rehabitated and revamped and revitalized for the International Pokemon World Championship Tournament. Thousand-year-old ruins now rub shoulders with ultramodernist skyscrapers. Another plus - for the most part, if something's not completely free of charge, it's outstandingly easy to get. This doesn't quite hold true for the Pixel Badge, challenge the sixth Gym Leader that battles here for a chance to earn it. Also, an enormous theme park-esque building is located nearby, where the sixth Hall is located, offering the Credit Ribbon.
Route Six - Clavier Bay Tunnel During the Reconstruction of Sysa City, Bay Bridge was under construction, to ease travel over Clavier Bay. However, the bridge became more and more expensive as the project experienced drawbacks, until one day, without warning, the bridge fell into Clavier Bay. Bay Tunnel was then efficiently constructed underwater. Conspiracy theorists speculate the cause of the catastrophe, while ghost hunters speculate the spirits of those lost in the collapse still haunt the tunnel to New Hirokone City to this day.
New Hirokone City Movies and plays and gambling and entertainment flow like water here in New Hirokone City. You could stay in this city your whole life and not once be bored. Perhaps the true challenge is not to get distracted - everyone's heard the old wives' tales of men and women traveling to New Hirokone City for business and never going home. If the city itself isn't enough of a test of willpower, the Gym Battle is unlike any other in the world. Face your fears and challenge a seventh Gym Leader for a chance at the Spotlight Badge, or the seventh Hall Leader for the Elucidation Ribbon.
Port Okorunai Okorunai is a burgeoning coastal city. Massive barges are constantly loaded and unloaded, and the Port has been in a constant state of construction for years. The instabilty of the city itself is reflected in the poltical alignments of the citizens. Conservatives insist the Gym Leader follow Okorunai's decades of tradition and battle with Poison-types. Liberals, however, demand that the young new Leader choose Dark-type Pokemon, to more faithfully represent the majority. At any rate, a decisive battle with the indecisive Leader gives you a chance at the Efficacy Badge.
Halcyon Island Via ferry from Port Okorunai, you can take a trip to Halcyon Island; so named by the residents themselves, who mostly are retired or filthy rich people spending endless bliss on a tropical island. Surrounded by near-crystal clear waters abundant with marine life, many tourists with extra cash in their pockets will prefer here to Schludenberg City, their main competitor. This small mass of land contains the last Hall Leader, where you can earn the Enigma Ribbon.
The Internet A fine place for the Trainers of Posca to interact. Post a blog, join a chatroom, keep in touch with friends, or even arrange a trade, all through the power of the Internet. Check here often, as someone may have vital information on, say, a swarm of rare Pokemon, or a Tournament, among other things.
The Valley Nestled between two mountains in eastern Posca is a quirky location known as the Valley. Known to most as a collection of cheesy tourist traps, the Valley is not without merit. Aside from such novelties as the "Highest Freestanding Stack of Paper" and "Museum of French-to-English Dictionaries," the Valley is also a great place for Trainers to catch Dark and Psychic-type Pokémon.
Mt. Rouille Mt. Rouille in extreme northern Posca is, in fact, a volcano. The land around Mt. Rouille is beloved by photographers for a number of reasons, particularly the strange climate. For example, when it snows, the snow melts when touching the ground, due to the geothermal heat. Only the snow that lands on rocks goes unmelted, creating a rather striking image. Mt. Rouille is also a photographer's paradise because of all the rare Ice-type Pokémon that call the area home.
The Forge In southeastern Posca lies a protected region known as the Forge. A Pokémon sanctuary, the Forge is known to collectors and Trainers alike as the premier location for catching Rock and Steel-type Pokémon. Be warned, however, as some of the Pokémon that call this area home are frightfully powerful. The condemned chemical plant is perhaps most dangerous of all.
Sysa National Preserve (Currently unavailable.) Protected by the Poscan Park Trust organization, the Sysa National Preserve was once a huge under-developed plains area that housed special kinds of Pokemon not found elsewhere. During the Reconstruction of Sysa City, however, a large amount of money was invested to upgrade the facilities, enabling the National Preserve to receive the latest in technology. Now however, their financial fund is running low, and Trainers will now be able to capture some non-endangered species, for a fee. This vast prairie continues to be preserved as a critical resource for the benefit and enjoyment of present and future generations.
